This is my second home in Dubai. First one was hardly home, it was just a huge room. Friends and family who heard about my grunts on the previous one, knew why I moved (I am still hesitating putting up the nasty photos) but the filthiness of the previous apartment was a blessing in disguise... I wouldn't have moved, it was great location - but glad I did cos I live with really nice people around me now. When I first moved in it was brand new. Having occupied the first room I made a request at the respective department to allocate my Singaporean friend to the other room - haha whether she liked it or not, now I hope she does!Enjoy the photos. Any suggestions on home decor - not about tidying the room please - will be happily considered!

Hi... I just happened by your blog when trying to find a jazz place in Dubai - blue bar. Been going through your blog periodically, i concurred the sentiments you mentioned when starting the blog; being new to Dubai myself and hitting that new bend in life... i love your verve and vocabulary; and it looks like you're having fun with your life and work, commendable.

SORRY, didn't mean to step on toes or offend; though i was hoping he was like a brother!! :) I wasn't asking you out either... Just wanted to keep in touch, it's hard to meet smart people in Dubai. Even though there are so many cultures here i've never felt segregation so much, or ever actually... i moved here from California, we get along with everybody there :)... and, it couldn't have hurt to know someone on a flight crew... i have to go to china often these days, selfish i know.
but if u buy good catfood and know how to treat a girl (cat) right.. can be considered. - saffi

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you find something to like about Dubai, Adnan. Go to Blue Bar on Thursday and Friday evenings when the live band plays, it's nice. As for China, doubt I'll be visiting very often everything depends on roster here. And if you're ever in Singapore look up the people posting here they are the best friends anyone can have! ;)

Hey, just wanted to end this by saying you guys have indeed been a sportin' group of friends, and a gentle let down is always appreciated... never been to your little island, but hopefully someday... still haven't been to blue bar, no time, travelling again tomorrow, i don't get paid to get on a plane though, what a shame!!! :)
